The Somerset Educational Technology team collaborates with schools to provide high-quality professional development programmes, supporting teachers to improve, and continually evaluate, pupil outcomes. Our experience and expertise is supported by robust evidence and includes appropriate levels of challenge, to help you provide excellent educational opportunities.
This is a chance for a teacher or support assistant to bring a group of year 5 and/or year 6 pupils to participate in a workshop day that will provide a mix of coding experiences for groups of learners.
The workshop will provide the opportunity for groups of learners to:
- collaborate creatively with learners from other schools
- create code to make devices move and react
- solve physical computing challenges
This workshop will enable participants to:
- increase confidence to solve problems
- build programming skills
- recognise ways code changes our world
One booking is charged at £20. One booking covers a group of four year 5 and 6 learners accompanied by a teacher/TA. We will confirm availability of places where schools book for more than one group. It is assumed the children will have prior experience of a mix of programming activities. We would like to take photos and video to capture the excitement of the day. A photo permission letter is an attachment for the course. Please email to firstname.lastname@example.org a week before the event. Children will need to bring a packed lunch. Drink and biscuits will be provided mid morning.
