Come and join Support Services for Education for their 2020 conference: ‘Quality Education through a connected and extended curriculum'. The all-day event will take place at Dillington House, Ilminster on Thursday 26 March 2020 and will include 15 workshops. The packed day will be full of workshops and sessions led by our support services and event partners, a chance to browse a wide range of exhibition stands, and opportunities to network with colleagues from across Somerset and beyond. We are delighted to announce the following Keynote Speakers will be attending the conference: Jimmy Rotheram - Music Coordinator at Feversham Primary Academy. Following the recent buzz in the press and after being featured on The One Show and various media across the world, we are delighted that Jimmy will be joining us to speak about his approach to Music lessons which turned his school around. This year Jimmy was shortlisted for the top 50 of the Varkey Foundations Global Teacher Prize, recognising him as one of the most influential teachers in the world. The Harmony Project's Richard Dunne will talk about supporting young people in developing a 'duty of care' towards the environment and the role education has to play in empowering them to become future leaders of sustainability. Roy Leighton - Education Innovator, Associate of Independent Thinking Ltd Roy is a highly creative educational innovator stretching schools, school leaders and classroom teachers to redefine what we mean by teaching, learning and leadership in the 21st century. Through his work with young people and teachers in schools, Roy is showing that a more considered and challenging approach to the curriculum and to personal and professional development can show benefits that stretch beyond exam results and inspection judgements. Our exhibition hall will feature stands from our SSE and SCC services as well as: Into Film, Action Mats, National Citizen Service, SASP, SPAEDA,Talk the Talk, LIFEbeat and more!
The booking fee is £25 (to cover administration costs). Lunch and refreshments will be provided at the conference. Please indicate any dietary requirements in the box below.
